Koala Survival Status
The koala is an endangered species with a population of roughly 40,000 koalas in the world. It has is endangered because its habitat is being cut down. Also, the eucalyptus trees are running out of eucalyptus making the koalas starve. There are also bush fires causing the trees to burn down. Dogs are also a problem. Koalas will be attacked by dogs and injured, possibly fatally. There are also road accidents. In addition, in the late 1800s to early 1900s koalas were hunted for their pelts.
